For over 10,000 years, the first peoples      of the Northeastern Woodland tribes         inhabited the northeast quadrant of the       North American continent. Traditionally, these people had an agricultural and
hunting society.  Later, many of these         Northeastern Woodland tribes would be known by Europeans for their hospitality.

One such Northeastern Woodland Tribe,  the Lenni Lenape of Pennsylvania, had   equitable dealings with William Penn. Eventually, many of the Lenape (Delaware) left the area and are today   living throughout the United States and Canada.

The Museum of Indian Culture provides an opportunity for visitors to learn about the rich history, traditions, and values of the  region's "first peoples".
